چکیده
The aim of this retrospective observational study was to assess the potential agreement between independent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and arthroscopic findings their respective contributions a final diagnosis in patients with refractory temporomandibular joint disorders. Two dentomaxillofacial radiologists two oral maxillofacial surgeons scored 50 joints. All observers, who were blinded additional clinical information, used specific scoring form selected one or more diagnostic labels. Agreement MRI arthroscopy assessed as primary outcomes using Fleiss’ kappa. Intra-modality correlation signal intensity ratio (SIR) measurements on synovitis grading secondary outcomes. poor. conclusions the clinical examination is an important and accurate diagnostic modality for evaluation of traumatic derangement of the knee joint. it is noninvasive, easy, available, and valuable diagnostic modality. the mri is an accurate diagnostic modality. it can be used whenever there is an uncertain indication for arthroscopy. however, costs have to be kept in mind, especially in patients w...
متن کاملCorrelation Between Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Arthroscopic Findings in the Knee Joint
BACKGROUND The knee joint is the largest and the most complex joint of the human body. It is not covered by any thick muscular covering anteriorly. OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to explore the diagnostic capabilities of clinical examination, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and arthroscopy in traumatic disorders of the knee joint, to seek correlation between clinical findings, MRI...

Fifty-eight temporomandibular joints (TMJs) from 40 patients with TMJ-related symptoms were examined by means of magnetic resonance scans with modified gradient echo sequences and a special double coil. This technique yielded a good spatial resolution of the intra-articular soft tissues, especially the articular disc and the bone structure of the TMJ. In combination with an incremental jaw open...
متن کاملCorrelation between clinical symptoms and magnetic resonance imaging findings in patients with temporomandibular joint internal derangement
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to clarify which findings in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are good predicators of pain and mouth opening limitation in patients with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) internal derangement (ID). MATERIALS AND METHODS Clinical examinations for pain and mouth opening limitation were conducted for suspected TMJ ID. MRI scans were taken within a week of cli...
